Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini and Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Ortwin Hennig signed a declaration on cooperation and foundation of German International School in Tbilisi.

Graduates of German International School will be awarded with internationally recognized diploma that will give them an opportunity to continue studying in Europe as well as in other countries of the world.

At the initial stage, kindergarten, pre-school and the first grade of elementary school will be opened for German, Georgian and foreign children. German teachers will teach the children according to the most modern German Curriculum. Georgian Language, literature and history will be included in this curriculum. These subjects will be taught in Georgian language by Georgian teachers.

School children will study English language from the first form. German language is one of the main languages in the world. 100mln out of 495mln population of European Union, that is every fourth European, speak in German. German language is an official language in following 7 countries of European Union: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Italy and Belgium.
