The European Mathematical Olympiad for Girls (EGMO 2020), which was held in an online mode this year due to the global pandemic, has officially ended. In addition to the EU countries, other countries participate in the Olympiad every year. This year, 204 top students from 52 countries were involved in the competition. Georgian team was amongst the participating squad, consisting of four girls, who are the students of the Komarov School of Physics and Mathematics.
The Olympics turned out to be successful for the representatives of our country. For the first time this year, all four members of the team won a medal: Ana Onoprishvili - a gold medal; Tamar Korkotashvili - silver medal; Mariam Ivardava - bronze medal; Maria Tskhvediani - bronze medal.
With regards to the team standings, the Georgian team shared the IX-X place with Bulgaria, which is a good indicator due to the number of participating countries.
The leader of the team was Ivane Gokadze, the co-leaders were Dimitri Arabidze and Saba Lepsveridze.
