The construction of a new, modern school in the village of Siktarva, Terjola Municipality, is in an active phase. The building for 140 students will be put into operation from the new academic year. Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, got acquainted with the construction process together with Lasha Gogiashvili, Acting Mayor of Terjola.
The new school building will meet modern standards – equipped with heating system, assembly hall, library, science laboratories and many more. The school will be adapted for students with special educational needs, with ramps, elevators, adapted bathrooms placed all around the premises. Additionally, the new school will have an open sports field.
As part of the ongoing education reform, the provision of modern school infrastructure is one of the biggest priorities of the government. To that end, the renovation, construction, and restoration of various schools throughout Georgia is in an active phase.
