Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini and Manager of Microsoft Program in Central and Eastern Europe - Forum of Innovative Teachers 2010, Teodor Milev participated in the summarizing conference and awarded the winner teachers with prizes and certificates.
Forum of Innovative Teachers 2010 launched in May 2010. It was held in three rounds. Different subject matter teachers of almost all regions of Georgia and informational managers participated in it.
Conference was held in the competition format. It was designed to reform the educational process, diversify teaching environment, encourage ICT integrated lessons, support the integration of informational-communicational technologies in educational sphere as well as identify and encourage creative teachers and introduce international practice, approach and electronic resources.
Participants of the competition presented interesting presentations of integrated lessons. Two projects that received grand prix were identified – one at the primary level and the second at basic/secondary level. Two teachers of the basic level took the first place; four teachers took the second place and six teachers - the third place. Totally, 14 prize-winners were identified.
Dimitri Shashkini said, organizing this type of competitions is very important. He noted, using IT technologies in the educational process will become more intensive. Heads and representatives of Informational Technology and Statistical Analytical Department, National Curriculum and Assessment Center, Teacher Professional Development Center and Education and Science Infrastructure Development Agency of MES participated in the event as well.
