A celebratory ceremony was held. The event was opened by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, and attended by the US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Archil Talakvadze, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, and other esteemed guests.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli: "I would like to wholeheartedly congratulate our society on a particularly important event - the opening of the Professor Ken Walker University Medical Rehabilitation Clinic. Many thanks to our key strategic partner and friend - the United States of America. For me, as a dual citizen of Georgia and the United States, I am particularly pleased and proud that such incredibly important projects are being implemented with the help and involvement of the American people, and the Government of the United States.

I would especially like to highlight the role of Professor Ken Walker in the development of both this project and the Georgian medical field. I personally have the honor of knowing him in person. Mr. Walker is a scientist of international importance, who is deeply in love with Georgia. He has done a great deal in creating the idea of this center, in conjunction with education Georgian students. Even today, his name and his merits are remembered with great love.

Moreover, I would like to emphasize, that besides the medical importance, the center is extremely important for the academic and scientific activities in Georgia. Students will be able to undergo vitally important internships here. Consequently, a whole batch of bright medical generations will be trained here. Furthermore, since scientific research is extremely important for our country, here with the help of our foreign partners, important scientific research process will take place, which I am sure, will be beneficial for Georgia and its partners.
