First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Akaki Seperteladze attended the presentation of the book “Russian Aggression in my Eyes” in the Museum of Occupation. Schoolchildren’s paintings and essays that reflect Russian aggression towards Georgia in August 2008, are included in the book. Authors of these workings are the winners of the competition “Russian Aggression in my Eyes” that was organized by MES.
Competition “Russian Aggression in my Eyes” was announced in January 2010. Winners were identified on February 25. All schools throughout Georgia were involved in it. MES received around 10,000 literature and paintings.
Children of primary school created paintings on Russian-Georgian war. Children of secondary school and upper levels wrote essays. New book was based exactly on these workings. Authors of the best workings and invited guests were presented with gifts.
Competent jure that was composed with famous writers and painters identified the finalists of the competition. 4th grader Ana Gegechkori and 10th grader Batu Biblaia who took the first place were awarded with computers. Schoolchildren who took the second and the third places were presented with prizes of 500 and 300 GEL. Around 40 schoolchildren were awarded with diplomas for participation in the final round.
The competition will be held every year. It is designed to show the society emotions, the schoolchildren had in August, 2008.
