Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini and Director of National ExaminationCenter, Maia Miminoshvili held a briefing on the completion of exams. For the first time this year, exams were held in three directions – Unified Entry Exams for entrants, Graduate Record Exams and teachers’ certification exams. Exams in all three directions were held without violations.
Dimitri Shashkini noted, 2010 exams were traditionally well organized for what he thanked Director of National Examination Center Maia Miminoshvili and workers of National Center and all 12 examination centers. Minister wished success to entrants, teachers and future MA students.
By the announcement of Maia Miminoshvili, 36,421 entrants applied and 97% of them took part in the exams. None of them were dismissed. 13, 582 teachers of Georgian language and literature, foreign languages and mathematics were registered for the teachers’ certification exams. 10,003, totally 75% took part in the exams. 7,000 willing candidates participated in MA exams.
Results of 2010 Unified Entry Exams will be known from August 10 of the current year. Results will be announced from July 24. Results of teachers’ certification and MA exams will be known, probably in the middle of August.
At the end, Maia Miminoshvili thanked the different agencies for the support in carrying exams out.
