With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Infrastructure Builders Association (ICCA) held an online event: Public-Private Dialogue - Vocational Education in Construction: Cooperation and Development Perspectives and an Online Employment Forum.
The forum was attended by German Ambassador to Georgia - Hubert Knirsch, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport - Tamar Kitiashvili, Head of Labour Market Analysis Division of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development - Giorgi Gamkrelidze and Executive Director of the Infrastructure Builders Association.
The importance of vocational education and its role in economic development, as well as the demands of the construction market and the response and challenges of human capital in this regard were discussed at the meeting.
Additionally, ICCA presented the results of a survey that reflects the needs of construction companies and educational institutions implementing construction programs.
Given the intensification of the construction season and the growing demand for qualified personnel in construction, after the discussion, the online space was dedicated to representatives of construction companies, individuals with vocational education, and students.
The demand for skilled labour in construction is high. The forum will connect construction companies and individuals with vocational construction education background, in addition, will helping students to find employment in their profession.
