The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli participated in the one-year anniversary event, dedicated to the creation of TV School, a joint-project created with the First Channel of Georgia. As the Minister noted, in light of the ongoing pandemic, TV School is associated with the most crucial measures taken, in order to maintain the continuity of the educational process in Georgia. This is a project that allows all students universally to attend the most engaging of lessons, as well as various cognitive and educational programs while disregarding their accessibility to the internet.

"I would like to thank all personnel, all the employees of the First Channel and the Ministry, who were involved in the implementation of the" TV School" project. It is a difficult task to provide an uninterrupted flow of educational services during the pandemic. Allow me to extend a special thanks to Vasil Maghlaperidze, who has made a great contribution of the full implementation of this project.

When we talk about the challenges and the success of our education system, I can’t fail to mention the merits and invaluable sacrifice of the teachers in Georgia. You are indeed the heroes of our time. Your diligence, professionalism, perseverance and dedication to work is truly immeasurable. I bow before each of you and thank you once again for your service.

I would also like to emphasize that BBC started a TV school and has been offering it to the British students since January 2021. Accordingly, what was started in the UK in 2021 was introduced in the Georgian education system 10 months ago. Moreover, it was owing to the launch of TV school, that the spring semester of 2019-2020 was not annulled.

The diversity of the project is remarkable. In addition to the subjects provided by the curriculum, "TV School" also includes extracurricular activities. Including dance, music and chess lessons. English lessons are also available for viewers of any age. "TV School" also includes a special hour dedicated for the entrants and their preparation for the upcoming exams. TV lessons in mathematics, nature, biology, Armenian and Azerbaijani as native languages ​​continue for ethnic minorities in their respective native languages. All lessons are adapted to sign language.

I am sincerely pleased that during this difficult period, through joint efforts, we were able to maintain a continuous educational process in our country. I am also very proud that the steps taken by Georgia to provide distance education have been highly praised by the international community.
