The newly renovated Alexander Tsutsunava Professional State Drama Theater has opened in Ozurgeti. After a 4-year pause, the 153^rd season opened with the premiere of the play based on Nodar Dumbadze's stories - "Yearning - Do not wake up" (directed by Vasil Chigogidze). The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, the Speaker of the Parliament, Kakha Kuchava, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Tea Tsulukiani, the Minister of Education and Science, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, other representatives of the executive and legislative bodies.

Cartu Charitable Foundation has allocated more than GEL 20 million for the complete renovation of the most important cultural monuments in Western Georgia. The big and small stage of the theatre, rehearsal rooms were completely revamped, new dressing rooms were created, a radio theatre, a museum space was arranged and many more. The theatre, which meets modern standards, is equipped with the latest equipment. Moreover, the theatre is fully adapted for people with disabilities.
