First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Koka Seperteladze and Director of Education and Science Infrastructure Development Agency, Irakli Todua visited Mleta village of Dusheti region and got familiarized with the construction works of the new public school.

Construction works were begun in June. The school will become operational on August 31. Considering the local climate, the school will be built with the wood material that will give the best opportunity of thermal isolation. The school that will serve 80 schoolchildren will be equipped with refurbished gym and computer class.

,,One of the top priorities of the reforms is improving the school infrastructure as well as building the schools that will be in compliance with modern standards. All schoolchildren should have an opportunity to receive the thorough education at the refurbished and modern environment regardless the school. MES actively works on these issue” – announced the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Koka Seperteladze.

As the 19^thcentury school was not suitable for exploitation, building of the new school in Mltela was decided. Only one public school operates in Mleta under the patronage of the First Lady of Georgia, Sandra Elisabeth Reolofs.

Currently, building of the new 10 schools is underway throughout Georgia. World Bank finances the construction works of six schools. Rehabilitation works of 300 schools are being held as well. Renovation works will be finished by the new academic year.
