First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Seperteladze and Rector of Ilia State University Gigi Tevzadze visited the construction site of sport collage.

From the new academic year Ilia State University Sport faculty will move to new building. The building with biochemistry, physiology and anatomy laboratories; 3 lecture rooms; computer lab and presentation room will be located at 2 University Street. It will serve 600 students. Sport Faculty practical studies will take place at ,,Karishkhala” sport complex.

Ilia State University’s Sport faculty has 2 bachelor programmes: Programme for coaches and Programme for physical fitness teachers. The length of Sport Faculty bachelor study programmes is 4 years. Sport Faculty will organize trainings for trainers, coaches and referees.

By the announcement of First Deputy Minister, the support and development of sport activities at public schools and higher education institutions is very important.

According to the President’s initiative, from the new academic year the physical fitness lessons will be replaced with sports classes in all public schools.
