Undergraduate and graduate programs at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University International School of Economics (ISET) have been officially accredited by the International Quality Assurance Agency (FIBAA) for a period of 5 years. The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli took part in the solemn event, addressed the public and congratulated the university community on the achieved result.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli: “I am pleased to celebrate with you today this important achievement of TSU International School of Economics ISET for the higher education system. FIBAA accreditation is a real step forward for ISET, as it is further proof that the school programs are competitive in their content and quality worldwide and offer students an international level of education. ISET Economics Programs in Georgia are the only internationally accredited programs in the field of economics and its acquisition is an international recognition of the quality of ISET, which opens more opportunities for graduates for future employment.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli noted that improving the quality of higher education and internationalizing it is vital for training competitive personnel in the local and global markets. Therefore, intensive work will be continued to reform and improve the education system in Georgia for the further economic development of the country.
The Minister also touched upon the situation created by the coronavirus pandemic in the education system and noted that it was possible to deal with this challenge through joint efforts. According to Mikheil Chkhenkeli, it is gratifying that the system is gradually returning to the usual rhythm of the teaching-learning process. Despite the pandemic, active work continues to improve the quality of higher education.
FIBAA is a German international accreditation agency working in the field of quality assurance in the higher education sector and is a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). The Agency has 20 years of experience working in the field of quality assurance and internationalization of education.
