A state-of-the-art training pool was opened at the Batumi State Maritime Academy, which will allow the students and current sailors of the academy to undergo mandatory practical training in accordance with the standards developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
The modern and multifunctional pool was built with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Maritime Transport Agency and the Government of Adjara.
The training swiming pool, among other features, is equipped with the ability to model the weather and the cadets will undergo training in conditions close to reality.
The official ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Tornike Rizhvadze, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Developmen, Natia Turnava, the Head of the Maritime Transport Agency, Tamar Ioseliani, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Tamar Kitiashvili and other honored guests.
