Under the auspices of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Association of HR Professionals and the International Digital Institute (IDI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, are launching two new projects to support the development of vocational education.

The first project, implemented by the Association of HR Professionals, envisages the development of documents that will help vocational education institutions to strengthen their organizational and HR systems. This, in turn, will help create an educational environment that meets the standards for authorization in colleges.

As for the second project, it will mainly focus on the formation of a future vocational education institution in which digital innovations ("VET of Tomorrow" (IDI) will be introduced.

Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia took part in the opening ceremony of the projects. In her speech, she thanked the representatives of the UN Development Program and the project initiators and stressed the importance of the international partnership for the development of vocational education in Georgia.

The Deputy Minister also spoke about the support for the development of human capital and the modern standards of authorization developed by the Ministry in this regard. According to her, the main priority of vocational education is to strengthen human capital, and yield realized, strong citizens, who in turn, will contribute to the economic development of the country.

As Tamar Kitiashvili noted, UNDP projects will help colleges develop a clear vision of HR and organizational development, and better tailor internal workflows to authorization requirements. In addition, vocational education institutions will have the opportunity to introduce modern technologies and digital tools in the learning process, which will make educational programs more diverse and interesting.

The presentation of the projects was also attended by the leader of the UNDP Economic Team, Giorgi Nanobashvili, representatives of the Swiss Development Office, international organizations and the National Center for Education Quality Development, educational institutions involved in the project.
