The Millennium Foundation, together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation, has launched an information campaign to promote vocational education called "Choose Your Future Profession".
The first event of the campaign - "Open Day" - was held at the Railway College, where the participants got acquainted with the history of the college, its achievements in terms of program development and future plans. In addition, within the framework of the event, the guests visited the infrastructure of the vocational education institution and educational spaces in accordance with modern standards.
Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia took part in the open day event. In her speech, she thanked the organizers of the campaign and spoke about the importance of informing the public, in particular, the youth, in terms of attracting students to vocational education.
Tamar Kitiashvili noted that the smooth and efficient work of the transport sectors in Georgia largely depends on the availability of qualified staff in this field. It is in this direction that human capital development is served by the Railway College, which offers young people a student-cantered educational environment and programs that meet modern standards.
The Deputy Minister stressed the need to conduct information campaigns to raise awareness about sectoral colleges among young people. She stated the most visible source of information is college graduates who are already positioned in the community as employed qualified specialists.
Millennium Foundation Executive Director, Magda Maghradze, Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation General Director, Zurab Kervalishvili and representatives of the Georgian Railway and the College also attended the Open Day.
