Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia visited Mermisi College, got acquainted with the registration process and inquired how the college is preparing for the vocational student selection process and the start of the new academic year.
According to Tamar Kitiashvili, the process of selecting vocational students will start on August 23, which will be conducted by the vocational education institutions themselves in a remote format. In line with the new enrolment rule and the new concept of student selection, colleges will use a variety of student selection methods based on the specifics of the programs, such as: motivational interviews, creative and special tours, practical case analysis, and more. As for the national testing, which only applies to fifth-level professional programs, the National Center for Assessment and Examinations will be conducted in line with all safety rules from September.
According to the Deputy Minister, for the new academic year, sanitary-hygienic norms will be observed in all vocational education institutions operating throughout Georgia and a safe environment will be created for practical and theoretical training.
