Lana Mtibelashvili has always been interested in the professions that related to children, that is why their love turned out to be crucial when choosing a profession.
"In 2014, after graduating from university, I started working as a special teacher. Back then there was still a stereotypical attitude towards inclusive education and the role of special educator. It was a challenge and, at the same time, a motivation to take care of continuous professional development, with the accumulated knowledge and experience to pursue the right policy of inclusive education with the school team” - said the teacher.
Working with students with special educational needs, Lana has clearly realized the power and importance of a teacher's beliefs and correct expectations of students:
"The most important thing is to listen, to observe, to believe in our students and the cooperation, communication, teaching-learning process will definitely take place" - said Lana Mtibelashvili.
Lana Mtibelashvili thinks that her main achievement is a relationship with students based on trust and respect. "Our cooperation is based on trust, respect and sincerity. I always try to support them and be their fan. Happiness is when you see how your students realize their potential, how they engage in educational activities, and participate in various school activities with friends. As a result, they are formed as independent individuals” - said the special teacher.
For the young teacher, as well as for her colleagues, online learning proved to be a great challenge: “Of course, there were many difficulties, but also many positives. Distance learning has highlighted the importance of parental involvement in this process. I think they correctly assessed the positive impact of cooperation on the teaching-learning process."
For Lana Mtibelashvili, pedagogy means discovering and recognizing the unique abilities of students, stimulating their interests and constant professional growth.
"I advise my colleagues, despite the difficulties, never to lose the enthusiasm with which they take the first steps in teaching” - said the young teacher.
