The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, together with the head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili, visited the Father Giorgi Mtatsmindeli Gori Gymnasium, where he participated in the opening ceremony of the annual Christmas festival - "Genetlia".

Mikheil Chkhenkeli addressed the audience and thanked the organizers of the festival - the Diocese of Gori and the venerable Father Giorgi Mtatsmindeli Gori Gymnasium for taking care of the development of creative thinking and enhancing the knowledge its students.
As the minister noted, it is necessary to conduct various informal educational and creative events in terms of forming important values and improving creative skills among teenagers. According to him, this is what the annual festival "Genetlia" serves precisely, which has been offering diverse, fun and interesting activities to students for several years.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli and Grigol Liluashvili attended the events held within the framework of the festival - the conference dedicated to the 45th and 90th anniversary of the enthronement of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Blessed Ilia II, and the calligraphy competition. Pupils and students at Gori State University presented reports to the public. In addition, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and the head of the State Security Service also visited the exhibition of handicrafts and personally got acquainted with the works and creativity of teenagers.
Furthermore, the Christmas festival was also attended by Givi Chichinadze, Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Mikheil Shakulashvili, State Trustee of Shida Kartli, Vladimir Khinchegashvili, Mayor of Gori Municipality, and Giorgi Sosiashvili, Rector of Gori State University.
The goal of the annual festival "Genetlia" is to improve the creative skills of teenagers and establish a healthy way of life among students by organizing conference speeches, competitions, sports activities, and exhibitions of handmade works.
Moreover, all educational institutions founded by the Patriarchate of Georgia participated in in this year's festival.
