The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari is on an official visit to Hungary.
Giorgi Amilakhvari was hosted by the Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, Janos Czak, where the sides discussed the issues of expanding the existing cooperation between the countries in the areas of vocational education, higher education and innovation.
The minister thanked Janos Czak for the long-term partnership and noted that a number of important projects are being implemented in Georgia in cooperation with the Hungarian government.
The ministers exchanged views on several achievements and challenges of the current vocational education reform. The sides agreed that Hungarian vocational education specialists will visit Georgia to share the best practices and transfer the knowledge. In addition, Georgian education specialists will be given the opportunity to raise their qualifications in the leading vocational schools of Hungary, in accordance with the priority directions of the Georgian state.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the sides also decided to intensify the support towards the internationalization of higher education. To that end, the specific directions will be identified, and the universities of Georgia and Hungary will start working on the development and implementation of joint/dual programs.
On his part, the Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, Janosz Czak, spoke about the achievements of the Hungarian government's policy supporting young people and families, and expressed his willingness to share his valuable experience with Georgia in this regard.
Moreover, during the meeting, the sides mentioned that intensive work will be started on the framework cooperation agreement covering all levels of education, which will be signed between the parties. The agreement will serve as a milestone for enhancement of the existing partnership between the two coutnries.
Prior to the meeting with the Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, Giorgi Amilakhvari visited the vocational training school for technical woodworking and got acquainted with the specifics of the school's work and spoke with the local students. The school management provided the minister with detailed information about the vocational school's programs, teaching methods and curricula.
Besides, the representatives of the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation made a presentation of the Hungarian policy aimed to support youth and families and share the information on the progress made to that regard.
