A conference focusing on the internal quality assurance of schools in Georgia was organized under the auspices of a grant agreement between the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and the Estonian International Development Agency (ESTDEV).
The event was opened by Tamar Makharashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, and Riina Kalurand, the Estonian Ambassador to Georgia.
The conference served as a platform to discuss the initiatives and outcomes of the project, including the development of internal quality guide projects, the impact of authorization on educational quality enhancement, current trends in the authorization process, and the primary challenges faced in this area within Georgia. Additionally, the Estonian model of general education, its challenges, and successful practices were examined.
Participants included the head of the General Education Department of the Estonian Quality Service (HAKA), representatives from ESTDEV, the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science, the National Center for Education Quality Development, the National Center for Teacher Professional Development, members of the General Education Authorization Council, school principals, heads of Tbilisi resource centres, and selected experts in general education.
