Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini awarded around 200 10^th graders of Tbilisi Public Schools with personal computers. These school children successfully completed the basic level (7^th, 8^th and 9^th forms). Totally, 1015 successful school children will be presented with computers throughout Georgia.

The project is being implemented in the framework of the President’s National Program “My First Computer”. The program is designed to encourage development of the teaching/learning methodology based on IT technologies by awarding the successful students with personal computers (notebooks/computers). The program is aimed to reduce poverty and develop competitive economic possibilities by increasing usage of modern technologies as well.

The school children were defined as the stakeholders of the program in 2010. They finished the basic level of 2009/2010 academic years and the score of their level amounts to ten (without rounding).

Encouragement of the successful school children will be still held in this way.
