New academic year began on September 20 at Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and Acting Rector of TSU, Aleksandre Kvitashvili congratulated the students on the beginning of the new academic year.

As the result of 2010 Unified Entry Exams, limit of the places was filled by the students. Around 2,800 students of the first course will join other 18,000 students from the new academic year. In 2010, the largest number of the students who gained 100% grant, were enrolled in TSU.

Bu tradition, on the first day of the academic year, ranking students and high ranking students of the first course were presented with the gifts. Musical group “Mgzavrebi” will perform a concert on the Rose Square. The concert is organized by the students’ self-governance of TSU. TSU ensemble of boys and girls will take part in the concert, dedicated to the new academic year.
