Dimitri Shashkini Held a presentation of Alumni Project at Public School № 52
The “Alumni” program is being launched and developed within
the framework of a second stage of the education reform in Georgia. The program has been successful in Western
European countries and the United States. The “Alumni” program is targeted at establishing
successful “graduate clubs” at schools, members of which will actively
participate in the development of their schools.
The Minister presented the above-mentioned project first at the Public School at №52, where he received 11 grade education. With his support, at №52 Public School a classroom was renovated and equipped with an appropriate inventory. According to Dimitri Shashkini, the above-mentioned program will give an opportunity to successful school graduates to contribute to school welfare and prosperity: “Each school has a successful graduate and if they are willing to support their own schools, this project will grant them the chance to do so. However, I should highlight, that this is voluntary and depends on an individual’s will and capacity. After graduating from University I worked for an American Corporation for 11 years and basically, had to work abroad. Today, I have an opportunity to help my school, which gives me a lot of warm recollections and in this way, I want to express my gratitude to the school where I spent 11 years,” – said Dimitri Shashkini.
