Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini awarded the winners of the competitions, that were held in the scope of the week, dedicated to 170th anniversary of Akaki Tsereteli. On October 29, presentation of an exact copy of Akaki’s “Salamuri” that was published in 1893 was held as well.
In the scope of the week (October 25-29), several events were held. Among these events was the competition of the writings about freedom. VIII-XII graders took part in it. The competition was held in three stages: school, regional and summarizing rounds. 11th grader of Akhalsopeli Public School, Tianeti region, Salome Jimshitashvili took the first place and was awarded with 700GEL. Holder of the second place is 10th grader of Tbilisi Public School №67, Nikoloz Samadashvili. He received 500 GEL. Mariam Dekanoidze, 10th grader of the village of Skhvitori of Sachkhere region was presented with 300 GEL.
In the frame of the week, web-site competition How Well Do We Know Akaki’s Works was held as well. 10th grader of Nabakevi Public School, Samtredia region, Rusudan Shengelia was the first who filled the test about Akaki’s writings and biography. The test was posted on the official web-site of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. She was awarded with the portable computer.
In the framework of the event, presentation of an exact copy of Akaki’s “Salamuri” that was published in 1893, was held by the Sh. Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature and the financial support of MES.
