Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini took part in the conference, organized by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development. Topic of the conference was the professional development of the teachers of primary classes and preparation for the certification exams. Primary school teachers and education experts participated in the conference.
Particular importance has the professional development of the primary school teachers as the schoolchildren master such skills as literacy, ecologic awareness, mathematical abilities and etc at this level.
Presentation of Teachers Methodological Guidebook was held in the scope of the conference. Modern teaching methods of Georgian, mathematics, natural sciences and social sciences are included in the book.
Screening of the teaching film Efficient Methods of Reading was held as well. The film is aimed to organize learning environment focused on literacy. The material covers several adopted teaching methods of reading. Guidebook is added to the teaching film with the recommendations in order to effectively use learned material in practice.
Teachers who participated in the conference got familiarized with the new standard of primary class teachers. Several amendments were made in the standard and issues were concreted in cooperation with the teachers and education experts.
