The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia together with the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement continues a series of Regional Academic Summits and trainings for higher educational institutions in the framework of the Twinning/CEIBAL project.

On the 8^th of December, the eleventh Regional Academic Summit on “Regulated professions” was held at the Sokhumi State University. The summit was opened by the speaker of Board Council of Sokhumi State University, Larisa Takalandze. After the opening speeches Prof. Jacques Pertek, University of Leon III, Prof. Lia Akhaladze, Dean of Faculty of Education at the Sokhumi State University, Prof. Vefkhvia Gvaramia, Dean of Faculty of Law at the Sokhumi State University, Prof. Gaiane Simonia, head of the Center of Medical Education, Research and Strategic Development at TSMU, held presentations on ‘regulated professions. At the Academic Summit closing remarks were made by Cay Etzold, RTA of CEIBAL/Twinning project.

After the Academic Summit training-seminars on ‘Regulated professions’ was delivered by Professor Jacques Pertek. The guest expert shared his French experience on the topic. More than 30 participants from different HEIs were registered for the training- seminars scheduled on December 8-10.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is the first public body in Georgia where the Twinning project is implemented. This Twinning project is implemented in the framework of ENPI and aims to introduce European Standards in the Higher Education System of Georgia. The project is implemented together with Germany and France.
