MES identified the best schoolchild, teachers, school principal, Resource Officers, private and public school as well as the Head of the resource center of 2010 year.
10th grader of Komarov Physics-Mathematical School, Sandro Maludze was selected as the best schoolchild. He won the National Education Olympiad two times. He took the second place in physics, the fourth place in maths and moved to the final round in 4 subjects and the second round - in 7 subjects.
Zaza Melikidze – teacher of mathematics of Rustavi Public School №26 was named as the best teacher of the year. Zaza Melikidze took the best scores in maths in the certification exams and one of the highest scores in general abilities. His schoolchildren successfully participate in the National Education Olympiads.
English language teacher Stephanie Eger who works at Shamgona Public School, Zugdidi region was selected as the best volunteer teacher. She arrived in Georgia in the scope of the program Teach And Learn With Georgia. Her lessons are distinguished and interesting. Stephanie is an author of many events and manages English language courses that enable teachers to deepen knowledge.
Aluda Goglichidze – Principal of Tbilisi Vekua Physics-Mathematical School was named as the best principal. During the two years, the schoolchildren of this school take the first place in physics and mathematics Olympiads. 50% of the graduates are enrolled in the higher educational institutions obtaining the 100% grant. These achievements are encouraged with the subject matter groups and supported by teachers’ high qualification. Schoolchildren of this school receive high scores in the humanities as well. By the initiative of the school principal, many new projects and programs are implemented at school.
The best Resource Officers of the year were identified as well. They are: Levan Kharazishvili – Public School №199, Lana Ghonghadze – Public School №151 and Giorgi Kamushadze – Public School №56. Many schoolchildren address them to help in the personal problems as well and the Resource Officers provide them with the relevant aid. Crime and violence is abolished in these schools as well as in other ones.
Akhaltsikhe Public School №5 was selected as the best school of the year. The school is the largest one in Akhaltsikhe. Teachers and the schoolchildren are actively involved in different projects and programs. The schoolchildren have distinguished academic achievements. Particular attention is drawn on the infrastructure advancement and modern equipments. Numerous rehabilitation works were carried out at school with the own expenditures.
The best private school of the year is school-lyceum “Mtsignobartukhutsesi”. All innovations of MES are developed and successfully implemented in this modern school. “Mtsignobartukhutsesi” is one of the first private schools that responded to the initiative of MES and offered studying to several talented and successful children from vulnerable families and the winners of the National Olympiads free of charge from September.
The best Head of the resource center is Rusudan Chkhetia – Head of Gldani-Nadzaladevi resource center. She took part in different trainings and seminars, organized many events and workshops. With the support of Rusudan Chkhetia, school principals and teachers of the region are informed about the innovations and new initiatives.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini awarded above selected nominees with special awards and noted that MES will always encourage the successful schoolchildren, teachers, principals, as well as private and public schools as they are focused to achieve success.
The best schoolchild, teachers, school principal, Resource Officers, private and public school as well as the Head of the resource-center will be identified annually.
