The process of improving school infrastructure is underway. According the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia from the new academic year 130 schoolchildren of Akhalkalaki Public School №3 will continue education process in the new building.

 Dimitri Shashkini visited Akhalkalaki and together with the representatives of local government and Education and Science Infrastructure Development Agency discussed the draft of the new school.

There are 5 public schools in Akhalkalaki, 3 of them are Armenian language schools and one is Russian language school. Public School  №3 is Georgian language school. The school building was damaged by the Spitaki earthquake in 1988 and the schoolchildren have been studying in uncomfortable environment.

In recent years the number of schoolchildren at Georgian language school has increased. In 2007 the school had 87 schoolchildren, now the number of schoolchildren equals 130.  Up to 250 schoolchildren can study at the new school.
