Director of National Curriculum and Assessment Center under the Ministry, Natia Jokhadze held a meeting with public school principals of Mtatsminda-Krtsanisi district. The aim of the meeting was to inform the school principals on selective subjects within National Curriculum and exchange opinions on this issue.
During the meeting, Mrs. Natia Jokhadze made a presentation on selective subjects, highlighted a list of selective subjects and thoroughly discussed the new developments in regard to 2011-2016 National Curriculum.
“According to the new National Curriculum, we offer selective subjects at all levels of secondary education that is - for X, XI, XII graders. Compared to the previous years, more selective courses have been incorporated to the national curriculum this year - there are up to 40 new subjects , in case of the schoolchildren’s interest, we can expand the list, ”- stated Director of National Curriculum and Assessment Center.
At first stage, National Curriculum and Assessment Center will prepare electronic resources and guidebooks for the teachers. Teachers will be trained on delivering selective subject courses at schools.
During the meeting, the school principals also had a chance to express their thoughts on teaching selective subjects and on those novelties that had been introduced to the National Curriculum.
In the end of the meeting, Mrs. Natia Jokhadze and experts of the Center answered the questions of the school principals on ongoing issues at schools.
