A model lesson in Mathematics was held with the use of the Smart Board in the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The lesson was attended by the Minister of Education and Science Dimitri Shashkini, Director of National Center for Teachers Professional Development Gia Mamulashvili and teachers of Tbilisi Public Schools.

Teacher of Tbilisi Boarding school of Physics and Mathematics “Komarovi“ Vakhtang Jaoshvili gave Mathematics lesson to the schoolchildren of 7^th grade at the innovation center of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The lesson was held with the use of smart board. In the teaching process of natural science subjects the board has the function of the virtual laboratory. As it was proved with the researches, the use of smart boards in the education process helps to increase students’ involvement in the lessons and to improve their academic achievement.

Model lessons with the use of smart board will be held every day at the innovation center of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The lessons will be given by the teachers who have already passed the trainings in using the smart board. The trainings were organized by the Center of Teachers Professional Development. About 200 teachers from Tbilisi Public Schools passed these trainings.  All interested teachers can attend the model lessons free of charge.
