Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited Batumi Maritime State Academy and hold the meeting with students and academic personal on reforms in education system.

Batumi Maritime State Academy is the only naval higher education institution in Georgia. 1491 students at all levels of higher education study at Batumi Maritime State Academy.

Academy library is equipped with modern textbooks and scientific literature.

In 2010, Service Agency of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia presented a ship to the academy. After reconstruction the ship is used for the practical lessons. 

60 students have the opportunity to have practical lessons at the same time. After finishing 6 month course the students get working diplomas. With such working diplomas the graduates are able to get jobs at any crewing company in the world.  

By the announcement of the Minister, it is very important for all higher education institutions to have modern infrastructure and meet the European standards.
