Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Irine Kurdadze and Director of National Curriculum and Assessment Center Natia Jokhadze attended a presentation of new textbooks of preschool education.
Within the scope of “Preschool Education Support Project,” important methodological documents were developed by the National Curriculum and Assessment Center. They are as follows:
The Center experts, physiologist, teachers and specialists in respective fields worked together to elaborate the above mentioned documents.
It is very important that preschool children be adequately prepared for the school; this will help them to meet the requirements set by National Curriculum.
New publications will help the specialists who work in preschool education sector to effectively plan the learning process; any other interested person can also consult these documents.
Above mentioned textbooks were developed by the financial support of UNICEF. Each publication will be distributed free of charge to all public kindergartens in Georgia.
Currently, preschool education is managed and financed by the respective local authority bodies. Nevertheless, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and National Curriculum and Assessment Center actively continues to provide supplementary textbook for the professionals working in preschool education sector.
Presentation was attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Irine Kurdadze, Director of National Curriculum and Assessment Center Natia Jokhadze, Head of Social Service and Culture Unit of Tbilisi City Hall, Mamuka Katsarava, UNICEF Deputy Representative Benjamin Perks and representatives of local authorities’ bodies.
