The Authorization of Private Schools begins
A process of authorization of the private schools will begin soon. In this regard, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited Georgian American High School “Vaziani+” and got familiar with the school, its infrastructure and learning process. Minister also met the 12th grade schoolchildren.
All public and private school shall go through the authorization process, since only authorized general education institutions will be eligible to carry out educational activities.
Authorization is a procedure of obtaining a status of educational institution that establishes the compatibility of educational institution with the following standards: educational programs, material resources and human resources.
Georgian American High School “Vaziani+” was founded in 2003 and is an official representative of the US Mathematics’ Union- MU Alpha Theta society. The School provides its students with enhanced curricula in Science, Mathematics and English language subjects. It is supplied with sophisticated equipment for laboratories and has a rich library with the foreign literature and well equipped sports infrastructure. Creative, cultural and Sports clubs are also active at school.
The schoolchildren actively participate in the school Olympiads and competitions organized by the Ministry. In 2009-2010 years, 18 finalists of National School Olympiad were from this school. In 2010-2011, 20 schoolchildren passed the third round of National School Olympiad. XII grade student of Georgian-American High School Nia Khachapuridze is the winner of the National Olympiad in Biology. Nia was also successful in selection process for the national team to represent Georgia in International Olympiad to be held in Taiwan. She will be a leading member of Georgian national team.
The graduates of this school also successfully pass the Unified National Exams, majority of them receive state scholarships. Up to 50 12th grades schoolchildren are to pass high school exams this year. Minister met them and talked about the CAT system and answered their questions.
