First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze, Director of Social Service Agency of Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, United Nations Children’s Fund Representative in Georgia Roeland Monasch signed a memorandum in the frame of Government's Action Plan for Children 2008-2011 and professional retraining.
The memorandum aims at developing professional skills among the children in state care and their parents, the studies of the children in the state care at the professional colleges will be fully funded: the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will cover 80% of the tuition fee and UNICEF – 20%. Social Service Agency will administer this project.
The children living in the orphanages, foster children, children reintegrated in the biological families and /or their parents will be the beneficiaries of the project. At first stage, up to 100 people will take professional trainings.
