New subject “Road Signs and Traffic Safety” will be taught at schools from new academic year. 1600 subject teachers will pass trainings at Policy Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini and Rector of Police Academy under the Ministry of Internal Affairs Khatia Dekanoidze met the teachers of the subject and held the presentation of new textbook at Tbilisi Public School № 23.
The textbook was created at the Patrol Police Faculty of Police Academy. The textbook consists of two parts: theoretical textbook and the textbook of practical exercises with thematic 1010 tests to obtain driving license.
The trainings of subject teacher will start from today at the Police Academy and will last till the beginning of new academic year. In the frame of the trainings the teachers will take different tests, take course in first medical aid assistance.
From the new academic year teaching of new subject “Road Signs and Traffic Safety” will start at all general education institutions of Georgia in the frame of the memorandum signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The schoolchildren of twelfth grade will learn the new subject. They will have opportunity to take practical lessons at school. The schoolchildren who pass the exams and have permission of the parents will get temporary driving license at the age of 17 with the right to drive the car without passengers in the city. At age of 18, instead of temporary license the youngsters will be able to take permanent driving license.
