Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini met Aleksey Venediktov, editor-in-chief of Ekho Moskvy – one of the most popular, independent and objective radio stations in the Russian Federation. The initiator of the meeting was the journalist himself, as he wanted to get first hand information on the ongoing reforms from Georgian officials.
According to Aleksey Venediktov, there is a lack of true and real information on the recent developments in Georgia in Russian Federation, as the people get information only from Russian governmental sources. Mr. Aleksey Venediktov is the member of board of advisors at the Ministry of Education of Russian Federation. That is why; he got especially interested in the current developments in Georgian education system.
Russian journalist get familiarized with many components of the Georgian education reform including school leaving exams, national unified exams, institution of the school resource officers. He plans to inform the Russian citizens on these novelties and introduce some of the reforms in Russian education system.
Minister Shashkini positively assessed the meeting with the Russian journalist - “The reforms undertaken in Georgia is interesting for many countries in the world,” highlighted the Minister.
