First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze and Rector of Police Academy under the Ministry of Internal Affairs Khatia Dekanoidze awarded 40 Resource Officers certificates on their completion of training courses of Rescuers.

40 Resource Officers of Educational Institutions from Tbilisi and other regions have taken a 2 week long training course of Rescuers at Tbilisi Sea and River Aragvi.  In total, 150 Resource Officers will be trained till the beginning of a new academic year.

Resource Officers have been recruited into this training course based on their performance in different kinds of sports. They were trained by the specialists of Rescuers Training Center of Emergency Management Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

In the frame of the training courses, Resource Officers learnt how to act in case of radiation, chemical and biological pollution and how to handle various natural and artificial threats. As a result of the training, Resource officers can now provide a first medical aid and can assist school staff in any emergency situation.

Office of Resource Officers was established a year ago to ensure a safety of schoolchildren and school staff. The school has a team of three resource officers. From a new academic year, one of the officers will be responsible for managing emergency situation and providing a first medical aid.
