National Center for Teacher Professional Development Center under Ministry announced a contest of Mentor Teachers. In regard to this, Minister Dimitri Shashkini and Director of National Center for Teacher Professional Development Gia Mamulashvili held a briefing.
Certified teachers of Georgian Language and Literature, Math, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, English, German, French, Russian as well as teachers of primary level and civil education are eligible to participate in the contest. Teachers shall have a three year work experience either at the public or private schools.
Mentor teachers will get 160 GEL as an additional payment to the monthly salary. At the same time, mentor teachers will be able to accumulate credits in the frame of the teacher professional development scheme.
Mentor teacher program has been operating for two years. This year, it has been introduced in more than ten regions of Georgia. Mentor teachers can work in Tbilisi, Gori, Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Poti, Ozurgeti and Rustavi Schools.
