The Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia, Mr. Dimitri Shashkin, and Governor of Shida Kartli Mr. Giorgi Tatishvili awarded 80 senior students of Shida Kartli public
schools with “Lenovo” Computers. The computers were granted to the students who
successfully graduated the 2010-2011 academic year. The event took place at the №3 Public School of Gori.
This project, meant to encourage students' academic success, is conducted as part of the national program “My first computer”, initiated by
the president. It aims to motivate students and enhance teaching/learning
methods based on information-communication technologies. The project will offer
equal opportunities for intelligent and high-achieving students.
The students of public schools, who successfully graduated the 2010-2011 academic year, became program beneficiaries. The MES will continue encouraging successful students in the future as well.
As part of the "My first computer" program, 1108 successful students have been awarded computers throughout Georgia this year.
