The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mr. Dimitri Shashkini, is continuing to introduce the Georgian government’s ten-section education plan. As part of his efforts, the Minister met teachers and schoolchildren of the Kvemo Kartli region in the newly built Teachers’ House.
During the meeting, Mr. Dimitri Shashkini talked about improving the quality of studying, meeting international standards and utilizing modern technologies, recent news in the educational system, and future plans, all of which are supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
The Minister congratulated teachers on the successful implementation of testing and discussed increased salary, teachers’ certification, and the increase of their qualifications. The Minister mentioned that in the future, the government will give more opportunity to teachers for professional development and will provide better working conditions.
The Minister also talked about projects being implemented to encourage schoolchildren: each pupil who finishes the 10th form with high grades will receive computers; students who win academic Olympiads, will go to summer camps; students who graduate successfully will study in the world’s leading university, and etc.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister answered questions from the teachers and students.
