The New Year present from the Minister
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini visited socially vulnerable eleventh grader of Tbilisi №10 public school, Giorgi Berdzenishvili and congratulated him on the New Year. The Minister granted Giorgi a PC and fulfilled Giorgi’s the biggest New Year wish.
In comparison to his school fellows, Giorgi suffers from serious health issues; he can’t move by himself and uses invalid carrier. Notwithstanding his disability, he attends regular public school, where with the help of all necessary accommodation he has access to comprehensive education. Due to his vulnerability, Giorgi takes special educational program.
Giorgi Berdzenishvili comes from socially vulnerable family. He has already chosen his future profession. In parallel to school he has graduated from the vocational college and acquired IT skills.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has been implementing specific educational programs for special needs children. Nowadays every child, notwithstanding his physical, intellectual, social, emotional background and linguistic abilities is presented with equal educational opportunities.
