The lobby of the library features unique publications from the XVIII, XIX and XX centuries; the rarest copies are preserved in Georgian, English, French, German, Latin, Greek and Russian languages. These publications are not available in any other libraries of Georgia.
Four halls are functioning in the central library: the Hall of Technical Sciences, (which also serves as a Conference Hall), is designed for 100-500 persons and is equipped with computers and wireless internet. The copies of famous American publication “NOVA”, publisher of the “International Journal of Georgian Science and Technology” is preserved in the same hall. The journal consists of articles and scientific works developed by the University’s experts. Entrance is free.
The Fiction literature is stored in the Hall of Humanities, which is decorated with the furniture designed at the start of the 20th century. Here also readers can access wireless internet and entrance to the hall is free.
The Hall of Electronic Books is equipped with 100 computers and features literature on IT technologies and Informatics.
The Hall of Press is equipped with 12 computers, and here readers can familiarize themselves with various domestic and foreign scientific periodicals.
Through the library’s computer center, one can acess information from other large libraries of Georgia. Via an online system, all interested persons can also access information preserved in English and American libraries.
The resources of the library are quite unique seeing as it includes publications of science and fiction, as well as teaching and learning resources; out of 1,721,906 copies, 500,000 are periodicals.
