By the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, a new program, “Professional Retraining and Professional Orientation Trainings,” will be launched. In the scope of the program, 20,000 persons will be trained charged free in English Language, Computer Skills, and Professional Orientation. The new initiative is a great opportunity for persons aged 25 and above, as it enables them to expand their knowledge and skills, and increases their chances of employment.
Trainings will be conducted from the 15 September, until the 15 November, 2012. Registration will begin on the 10th August and end on the 10th September. All interested persons can registered via ID cards only.
Centers of Trainings for Professional Retraining and Professional Orientation will be opened in Rustavi, Telavi, Gurjaani, Gori, Khashuri, Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki, Zestaponi, Chiatura, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Tkibuli, Oni, Senaki, Zugdidi, Poti, Batumi, Ozurgeti, and Mestia.
In a competitive job market, unemployed persons need, in addition to a formal academic education, to possess professional skills such as the ability to present and minimum proficiency levels in technology usage and English language.
The trainings will help the participants to plan their future career and improve their professional skills. The trainings will be also useful for those individuals who desire to launch an independent business. These courses will provide them with the opportunity to learn how to develop business plans; furthermore, the program will cover such topics as management principles, fundraising, business administration, and other relevant subject matters.
Due to the absence of proper infrastructure and learning centers, the majority of the region’s population was not able to develop the above mentioned skills. Therefore, there is currently a lack of qualified staff in the labor market.
The new project will boost the economy in the regions, create a competitive labor market environment, and support the development of local government and business sector.
