“The Contest in Georgian Calligraphy” organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center of Manuscripts was declared open. Pupils, students and adults of Georgia as well as Georgian immigrants can participate in the contest.
The contest consists of three stages. Each contestant has to present his/her work to National Center of Manuscripts before 12 April, 2012. The winner will be revealed on 30 June, the day when the National Center of Manuscripts was founded. The Deputy Minister, Irine Kurdadze, and the Director of the National Center of Manuscripts, Buba Kudava, held a briefing on the occasion.
MES has granted 7,400GEL to the project awards' foundation. The contest winners will be awarded significant monetary prizes and other gifts along with certificates. Additional information on the finals competition of the contest will be provided by the National Center of Manuscripts.
“The Contest in Georgian Calligraphy” is held by MES and the National Center of Manuscripts mutually, in collaboration with other interested organizations, and aims to promote handwriting and creative skills in youth.
“The Contest in Georgian Calligraphy” has taken place for the past three years. Initially, only school pupils participated in the Contest. The scope of the Contest was increased last year and was augmented to include students and Georgian adults, including Georgian immigrants amongst them. “The Contest in Georgian Calligraphy” is conducted under the blessings of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.
