Kiriak Zavriev construction mechanics, earthquake resistance and engineering expertise laboratory will facilitate development of engineering field in Georgia and will be accessible for Higher Educational Institutions, their students and scientists. The lab enables implementation of practical work, tests and scientific research. Earthquake resistance analysis will be carried out at the lab.
The lab which corresponds to international standards is equipped with the most modern technology and it is the single unique lab region wide. It enables construction material testing with European and American methods.
The equipment allocated at construction materials, geotechnical and asphalt-concrete labs is unique by its characteristic technical and physical-mechanical features. Study and research of physical-mechanical features of cement, concrete, metal constructions and other types of construction materials and items and their compliance analysis with established standards is being implemented here along with identification of ground characteristics for right decision making about construction sites.
With the help of modern equipment it is possible to scan buildings in 3D scanner and develop exact image in 3D format. The lab is equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS), which is used to develop exact sketch of the plot and carry out design and topographic works. The modern equipment is connected to GEO-CORS System of Public Registry and enables receipt of high accuracy data.
National Forensics Bureau has purchased Swedish made device “georadar” which is used in archeological as well as engineering and geological researches.
The lab is manned with highly qualified and experienced professionals.
