Irresponsible persons continue to disseminate false information on the issuance of false high school diplomas by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. While misleading the society, the authors of such announcements are trying the score cheap political points.

The Ministry of Education and Science once more emphasizes that in 2011 the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia issued a decree in accordance with the “Law on General Education of Georgia”. According to this decree, school year graduates of 2011 were granted high school diplomas with special serial number which were the documents of completion of general education. Exceptions were made for those students, who did not register for school leaving exams or could not get the passing grades in subjects determined by the Minister as obligatory for granting high school diplomas.

The total number of such graduates is no more than 300. The aim of such decision was to support the minorities to further continue their studies. Nevertheless, the students with high school diplomas with special serial numbers do not have the right to study at higher education institutes authorized in Georgia.

According to the Georgian legislation, it is not mandatory to register the decree#453, issued by the Minister on July 12^th, 2011, (it concerns the continuation of studies at higher educational institutions abroad) in the state registry of normative documents. The mentioned decree was posted on the official web site of the Ministry; moreover, it had been introduced to all interested persons.
