Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini met with the Russian expert and writer Larisa Burakova. Burakova is the author of the book “Why does it work in Georgia?”. The book published 2 years ago, covers successful Georgian reforms, Russian-Georgian relationship and achievements of Georgian government. The book is now being translated into Ukrainian and will be published in Ukraine soon.
While her visit to Georgia, Larisa Bugakova expressed her interest in the current reforms of Georgian education system. Today Minister of Education and Science of Georgia hosted the Russian expert at the Ministry.
During the meeting, Minister answered the questions of the Russian guest regarding the safe school concept and necessity of establishing the Office of Resource Officers; high school leaving exams; development of school infrastructure; voucher based financing of schools and vocational colleges; teachers certification exams and school computerization.
Minister also talked about other successful reforms of the education system such as the program “Teach and Learn with Georgia”.
