Russian expert Larisa Burakova got familiar with current education reforms and visited “Future Classroom” at 1st experimental school; vocational college “Ikarosi” and Teacher’s House.
At 1st experimental school Russian guest observed the “Future Classroom”. In this multifunctional, technology-equipped classroom, all lessons are conducted with educational tools displayed on the electronic interactive board as well as on personal monitors of each student.
The teachers have the opportunity to monitor students’ working process, assist them in case of need, and send personalized comments.
In the vocational college “Ikarosi” Larisa Burakova was introduced to the educational programs and infrastructure of the college. The college trains professionals in following specializations of tourism: cook, barman, waiter, receptionist, hotel booking, also specialists in the art of cuisine, restaurant and hotel businesses.
Russian expert also visited Teacher’s House and got familiarized with its concept. She observed laboratories of chemistry, physics, biology and met with the teachers taking trainings at Teacher’s House.
The purpose of the Teacher’s House is to serve teachers 24 hours a day, including providing such support as training programs in professional development and all school subjects. Furthermore, presentations and discussion forums on the latest publications of educational literature, model lessons, master classes, and online conferences are also being held at Teacher’s House.
Larisa Burakova is the author of the book “Why does it work in Georgia?”. The book published 2 years ago, covers successful Georgian reforms, Russian-Georgian political relationship and achievements of Georgian government.
The aim of Burakova’s current visit to Georgia is to gather some additional information for her book, which is now being translated into Ukrainian and will be published in Ukraine soon.
