The final results of the 2012 National Exams have been announced. In the 2012-2013 school year 24,501 entrants became students. The above mentioned is a 5% percent increase compared to last year. This year 35,361 entrants were registered but only 34,431 were present at the exam; 2% didn’t show up and 12 entrants were late and therefore weren’t allowed to take the exam. Because of procedural irregularities, no entrants were expelled. 1,480 entrants appealed, and the numbers were changed to 300 applicants. The list of 2012 enrolled students is on the official website of the National Examination Center: www.naec.ge.
The 2012 examinations were held in peaceful environments for the students. On June 28th seventeen new exam centers were opened in 12 cities throughout Georgia. Examining rooms were equipped with 850 webcams and more than 900 new desks while 1200 invigilators oversaw the examination process. This is the last time that the exams will be held in this way however, the new model (8+1) will be next year.
